As girls golf came to a close, coach Lindsay Burry said there were challenging matches that made this season a hit.

“The biggest matches this season [were against] Galesburg and then Regionals,” Burry said.

Senior Hannah Maguire said she looks forward to the challenging matches each season brings.

“I always look forward to playing at the Galesburg Invite as well as [at] Confrences adn Regionals,” Maguire said.

To play well in these games, the girls practice individually as a team.

“[Golf] take hard work. We practice out putting drills and on the weekends we practice as a team,” senior Krystal Burgtorf said. “We bond as a team when we have team dinners and when we practice together.”

Burry’s goal for this season was to win Western Big 6, which was accomplished, but she said that wasn’t the most important.

“I’ve been a golf coach for four years at QHS and every season I want more underclassmen to join,” Burry said. “Getting the you kids involved excited me the most.”
